Job Description:

The Financial Consultant is responsible for identifying and delivering personalized financial solutions to individuals, families, and businesses. This role focuses on client acquisition, relationship management, and developing tailored financial strategies—including investment planning, retirement planning, risk management, estate planning, and insurance services. The consultant acts as a trusted advisor, guiding clients toward their financial goals through education, planning, and ongoing support.

Essential Responsibilities:

Client Acquisition & Business Development

  • Develop and execute strategies to achieve production goals for investment and financial service offerings.
  • Build a strong client base through referrals, networking, community engagement, and professional connections.
  • Maintain influential relationships with prospects and clients by placing a high emphasis on one-trusted advisor-based relationship building.
  • Represent the agency at community events, financial education sessions, and networking groups.

Consultative Financial Planning

  • Assess client needs, risk tolerance, and financial goals through detailed fact-finding and discovery.
  • Develop and present comprehensive financial plans, including retirement, wealth accumulation, college savings, insurance, and estate strategies.
  • Provide insurance recommendations such as life, long-term care, disability, and annuities based on client objectives.
  • Ensure plans are tailored to client-specific circumstances, regulations, and market conditions.

Account Management & Compliance

  • Maintain client files and financial planning records in accordance with regulatory and firm standards.
  • Collaborate with internal staff, investment providers, and insurance carriers to implement client strategies.
  • Monitor portfolio and plan performance; provide ongoing reviews and recommend adjustments as needed.
  • Stay current on industry regulations (FINRA, SEC, DOL), market trends, and product innovations to maintain compliance and offer best-in-class advice.

Professional Development

  • Pursue continuing education and maintain all required licenses and designations (e.g., Series 6, 7, 63, 65/66, Life & Health).
  • Attend training, seminars, and educational events to improve financial knowledge, client service, and consultative skills.

Other Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Other duties as assigned by Management.

Certifications/Licenses Required

  • Brokers’ License required
  • Valid Driver’s License

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance, economics, business, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial services, wealth management, or insurance-based planning required.
  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) with a minimum of 7 years insurance sales experience.
  • Series 6, 7, 63/65 or 66 licenses (or willingness to obtain) required.
  • Life, Accident & Health insurance license required.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple client needs, and follow through with precision.
  • Proficiency in financial planning software, CRM platforms, and Microsoft Office suite.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hand and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Occasional travel for client meetings and professional events is expected.
