Jeffrey Stephen, Group Benefits Consultant
Jeffrey Stephen joined Emerling Floss Murphy and Associates in October 2025, bringing over 35 years of experience in the employee benefits industry. Originally from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Jeffrey has built his career helping businesses and their employees understand, navigate, and maximize their benefits.
Before joining EFM&A, Jeffrey spent more than five years with Equitable Life of Canada, working with clients across several provinces including Alberta, Manitoba, and Ontario. One of his most meaningful success stories involves a longtime friend who asked Jeffrey to manage the benefits for his three automotive dealerships. That business has since grown to nearly 20 dealerships, and Jeffrey remains proud of the role he played in supporting that expansion.
Jeffrey has worked on both the insurer and broker sides of the benefits industry, giving him a well-rounded perspective that clients value. He completed his New York State Life and Health License in only three weeks and met his annual quota within the first three months of 2025 at his previous employer. He began his career making daily in-person cold calls, an experience that shaped his work ethic and determination.
At EFM&A, Jeffrey enjoys helping employers better understand their benefit offerings and guiding employees as they make decisions about their coverage.
Jeffrey now lives in East Amherst and became a United States citizen in December 2024. He was born on the Fourth of July and proudly embraces both his Canadian roots and his American citizenship. Outside of work, he enjoys playing and watching hockey, and he holds a Level 5 USA Hockey coaching certification. He is also an enthusiastic supporter of the Buffalo Sabres and the Buffalo Bills.
This is Jeffrey’s first professional role in the United States, and he is excited to continue building strong relationships while delivering exceptional service to the clients of EFM&A.
