Mary Murphy

Mary Murphy is a proud third-generation family member in the insurance industry. Her grandfather founded Murphy Insurance in Lockport, NY, in 1925. The agency continued under her father, Donald, before Mary joined the company in 1984. In 1998, she purchased the agency from her father upon his retirement, carrying forward the family legacy.

Mary is based and oversees the Lockport, NY location in the same office where Murphy Insurance has proudly served the community over the years.

A lifelong resident of the City of Lockport, Mary has been deeply involved in community and civic organizations, including serving as past board chair of both the Kenan Center and the YWCA of the Niagara Frontier. She has also been active with the Zonta Club of Lockport and DeSales Catholic School, and she currently serves on the board of the Grigg Lewis Foundation. She is a graduate of the State University of New York at Oswego with a Bachelor of Arts degree and of the University at Buffalo’s Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership Program.

Mary is the proud mother of two sons. She shared her life with her late husband, Kevin Minderler, and continues to honor his memory through her family, work, and community involvement.
