Paul Staring, Account Executive
Paul Staring joined Emerling Floss Murphy & Associates in January 2026 as an Account Executive, bringing 18 years of commercial lines insurance experience and a strong reputation for relationship-driven results.
Paul earned his Bachelor’s Degree from LeMoyne College and holds the Associate Underwriter designation. He specializes in Property & Casualty insurance, with deep expertise in commercial lines strategy, underwriting, and agency partnership development.
Prior to joining EFM&A, Paul spent 13 years with Liberty Mutual as Senior Territory Manager, Commercial Lines. Before that, he served as Territory Manager, Commercial Lines for two years and Senior Commercial Lines Underwriter for three years at Peerless Insurance Company. Throughout his career, Paul has built strong partnerships that leverage carrier and agency relationships in ways that are mutually beneficial and growth-focused. He has successfully helped agents navigate both hard and soft markets, bringing a balanced understanding of the carrier, agent, and insured perspectives.
Paul is a three-time National Territory Manager of the Year and contributed to Region of the Year honors twice. He has also mentored and coached new underwriters and agents, many of whom he continues to maintain strong professional relationships with today.
He is an active member of WNY Big I, Rochester Big I, and WNYIA. In addition to his insurance career, Paul has been a small business owner since age 25 and is also a real estate investor.
A native of Union Springs, NY, Paul grew up in the Finger Lakes region and now resides in Sanborn/Lewiston. He and his wife Danielle have four children: Nick, Emma, Ella, and Nolan. A Buffalo Bills season ticket holder since 2007, Paul is passionate about the Western New York community and enjoys camping, hiking, and spending time with his family.
