Job Description:

A Commercial Lines Account Manager is the dedicated client advocate for an assigned book of business. They are primarily responsible for receiving and processing client and carrier requests for coverage, claims, and billing.

Qualifications:

  • Team orientation with the ability to work collaboratively to ensure processes are timely, accurate and thorough.
  • Courteous and effective relationship building skills with clients, co-workers, carriers, and other business contacts.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commission, and percentage.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Proficient in Agency Management Software and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, internet software, and partnering carrier systems (underwriting requirements, endorsement processing, quoting, policy issuance and claims)

Responsibilities:

  • Quoting, binding, and underwriting renewal applications and occasional new business in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Processing new and renewal policies upon receipt.
  • Designated client representative for inquires and complaints via telephone, mail, e-mail or in-person.
  • Completing questionnaires for new accounts or renewal policies, rating coverage and verifying underwriting eligibility.
  • Issuing binders, auto identification cards, loss run requests, policies, endorsements, certificates, as well as change requests and all required forms for clients and companies.
  • Entering all pertinent client information and proper documentation of all client interactions into the agency management system.
  • Verifying policy and policy change information, facilitating corrections when necessary.
  • Actively seeking referrals from current client base to solicit for new business prospects and retaining clients from assigned book of business.
  • Providing technical support to the sales team.
  • Any other duties as assigned by Management.

 Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business preferred and 3 years of insurance experience OR 7 years of insurance experience
  • NYS Broker’s License

Compensation Range: Annualized salary of $50,700.00-$64,350.00 ($26.00/hr-$33.00/hr)

Note: This job does not offer a fully remote option, but a hybrid schedule can be discussed.
